04:39 pm: YES! THUG MANSION BACK IN ACTION!
Ok I'm back! I guess I haven't had much time to ramble on about my thoughts however- this weekend..I came across some funny shit to post about life in da hood. So. I'm driving to a wedding bout 4:15 pm on 13th Street heading towards 101. In the middle of a 4 way stop intersection, I see this Honda Civic halfway in/bt the street. Its just there with its hazard lights on..NO ONE around at all. Hmmmm. Let me take a picture! So once I turn around there are two guys scrambling to get the car out of the street.
Seems like the person putting the tire on this car had no fucking idea what he was doing. He must have been in mid turn when his wheel flew off. The ground was all scraped up from the metal on the wheel roters or what ever they're called. ALL BAD!! lol. Life in the hood cracks me up. That guy got sooo lucky b/c he had to abandon ship and run to his boys house to get help. Where's a cop when you need one? lol. The car was right in front of a doughnut shop so go figure!

08:12 pm: Ghetto Story Volume 2: Jose and The Lincoln

Ok it may seem that I'm only posting when I have juicy gossip or something of value to post. Gee's I'm really going to miss the hood! Anyway if you refer to my "other live journal" the posting I made on June 11th basically should explain THIS post. LOL.

I'm L-Dizzle f'shizzle reporting from Thug Mansion in San Jose. This morning at 4am Thug mansion residents were awoken by a car alarm that would not cease. Accustomed to having g-ride parts (TV's, stereo's and speakers) stolen, reporter off duty Vince, jumped up and ran to the window. At that moment, Neighbor Dallana knocked on his door asking him to watch her daughter while she and Jose ran outside to chase a culprit breaking into their slammed (lowered), g-ride Lincoln LS with 6 Tv's and beat. (bumpin stereo) As soon as these two looked out the window, they saw an unidentified suspect at the scene of the crime making his way into thier vehicle. Jose ran outside to chase him while Dallana called the Law. Hence- this is why we needed to watch Audrey. I myself tried to continue sleeping and one hour later.. the lucky son of a gun. Jose had helped police locate and arrest the culprit. Seems that luck in the hood is possible when getting yo shit stolen. It would have been nice to know that Jose got some punches in while getting a hold of the culprit..but I think that the feeling was much sweeter to know that the cops got their hands on an early bird theif! The theif had even dropped his "break in" tool while running away and the police found MORE on him. Earlier last week Jose wasn't as lucky and had some Tv's stolen from his classic mustang. Hopefully they can tie this guy to the other theft. He seemed to know what Jose owns. Anyway.. I really am going to miss this place when I move to Morgan Hole. Admist all the ghetto-ness and crime I am not frightened to live here. It's really NOT that bad. It's a charming little area of downtown but you need to remember to turn down your beat and turn those TV's OFF before parking yo shit in the HOOD!

Ghetto Story Volume 1: Jose and The Harley

Live with a news update: I'm Lily Rodiguez reporting from downtown San Jose. I am located at East Empire Street in front of Thug Mansion. Last night at about 8pm there were reports of a stolen Harley Motorcycle. While the owner (my cousin) looked around for the culprits, the police cooperated in the search. Eye witnesses stated that 2 hispanic males passed by 12th street pushing a Harley along the street not long ago. The eyewitness were all located in the same area so Police searched backyards and driveways. At that point, a man in a trailer pulled up to a nearby house. The Harley owner's girlfriend asked the man with the trailer if he had seen a stolen Harley. He seemed a bit suspicious and police asked to look in the backyard of the house he had pulled up to. A Woman came out from the house yelling at the police NOT to look in her back yard. So they DID look because it was way to fishy for her to be so upset about them peeping in her yard.

Low and Behold: The stolen Harley. The theives happened to know the owner and they conspired to steal the bike in broad day light. The owner was home at the time but didn't see them. A tip for the robbers: Stealing stuff is best done in darkness and don't steal from your aquaintances..especially ones with friends on every corner. The man with the Trailer was booked with Accessory charges but the Main person who planned the hiest fled from the scene. He did however call the owner via cell phone and tried to explain himself. Saying that he thought it was his bike that was stolen a while back. The police told him to return to the scene and clear things up but he confessed that he had 2 strikes and refused to go back to jail. There is a warrant out for his arrest now so he will go away for doing this. Never mess with a Thug Mansion Resident.

Again, I'm Lily Rodriguez with GFB. Goodnight.

12:04 pm: Things that are super YUMMY at TJ's
I <3 Trader Joe's! I have been doing most of my shopping there lately. The frozen food ailse ROCKS. Here are things you must buy when you are @ TJ's:

Wine: Charles Shaw a.k.a $2 buck Chuck- Sauvagion Blanc & Red, Shiraz (yes they do have it!)

Pita Chips: Get the ones with cinammon and sugar & the ones with parmesean & garlic

Frozen Food: Asparagus Risotto- SO GOOD!, Thai Curry Rice with Veggies (spicy but VERY authentic tasting-just add chicken or shrimp!, Shrimp Pot Stickers, Green Tea Mochi Ice Cream (mmmmmmmm), I also have a bag of garlic fries & Pad Thai that I haven't made but I will update once I try em!!

Canned Foods: Artichoke Hearts! $1.99 per can vs. $3.49 at Safeway!!

I think thats about it. Didn't realize that shopping there is cheaper than big food stores. I don't recommend their organic Yogurt though. It wasn't good at ALL. I'm sticking to Yoplait!

In other news: My work outs have been super successful lately. I eat less and work out more. I try and do 5 days a week but will bump up to 7 soon. I was thinking to myself the other night-- "Why was I SO skinny when I was younger?" The answer: It's NOT age. I used to train 6 hours a day age 14-21 so my body was used to the constant excersize. Figure Skating 6 hours a day burns like A MILLION calories so anything I ate I just burned away. I would eat Mc D's after training at night and never gained a pound! So..my conclusion was that I need to just work out more to obtain those results. NO wonder those skinny celebs spend their lives in the gym.. it takes that much to get a rock body.

11:46 pm: My life should be called E.R. I don't know why but my poor guy has been cursed by some wretched evil. lol. This time V has hurt his left thumb. Doesn't sound bad until you see that he's sliced of a chunk of meat the size of half a cherry. Friday night we were about to hang & party with some friends. Vince started to make some lime & rum drinks when he slices the tip of his thumb. (he was slicing limes) Sheesh!! Not even drunk yet and the party ends there. It's pretty bad but we tried to calm him and tell him that its not that bad. hehe. If we go to the emergency room, they can't really do anything but bandage it up b/c there is nothing to stitch! gross! So far V's Injuries are as follows:

Early Spring: Twists knee badly while riding his 50. Limps for 2 weeks. Severity: E.R. worthy.

Late Spring: Falls off his bike on his way home (sweater caught in back tire) and ends up with a HUGE gash on his side. Severity: E.R. worthy. (could have used stitches)

Fall: Vince steps on his exacto knife. Deep cut. Severity: E.R. worthy. (could have used stitches)

Winter: Sprains left foot badly. Doesn't walk at all for 2 weeks. Still Limping occasionally now. Severity: E.R. required.

Late Winter: Slices thumb while cutting limes. All skin sliced off so stitches not possible fot this one. Severity: E.R. worthy.**Out of all these incidents only his sprained foot got medical attention!**

Spring: Cross Fingers and hold breath.....

Anyway, I had a nice weekend besides the monthly E.R. moment. I relaxed all day on Sat and got some laundry done. I worked out on Sun afternoon at work. I have started to eat a lot less so I hope I see results soon. I need to log my food intake so here I go before I forget.

Sat:

2 Small boiled eggs

1 Roma w/ Feta, balsamic vin, evoo & some mozzerella

Dinner: 1 Italian BMT Subway 6 in w. no mayo.

Popcorn and 4 resses small cups

Sun:

Small Jamba Juice

Jamba Apple Cin. Pretzel

Dinner: 1/2 Sonoma Chix Coop Chicken Carbonara Entree & 3/4 Pint Pale Ale.

09:38 am: SJ Sux Ass
I hate San Jose. Some punk ass has been stealing mail in my neighborhood. Last night the cops were pounding on my door and came to let us know what was going on. It's very upsetting to know that some punk bitch was looking at my personal information. Poor Vince had more mail stolen. To my knowledge all they have is my Comerica 401k statement. The A-Hole is already in custody but who knows what he did with our mail! Anyway..I want to move so bad but we're in a prime location. Near school, good food and freeways. GRRRR!

On a lighter note, my lil Sis starts her first day at Yahoo! on Monday! Yeay! We get to have lunch together! I also forgt to mention that when I arrived home on Thursday night, a litte brown cotton tail bunny came out of now where and was just hoppin along the sidewalk. It was SO cute! I wanted to keep it but it hippity hopped away. lol.

08:47 am: RAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHH!!! ME Strong!
I kicked my butt last night working out. lol. I made Trac run with me in the dark at the hill behind our building. He was stretching on the treadmill about to run but I forced him to be hard core hahaha. It was really military like. We couldn't see 2 feet ahead of us. We just ran like the Taliban was after us!!! haha. I am surprised I'm not super sore but I am achy. I will take it easy tonight. I made this excel sheet that tracks my meals and work outs. I'm on my way to being RIPPED. hahah. I want my arms to be so toned that when I rest them a certain way that upper muscle just GRRRRR stands out. hehehe. *NO not like China or anything!!

So all this enthusiasm comes from the new Altima commercial. There is this girl that stands near the car and she looks med height like me. Strange for a TV commercial b/c you always see these tall stick figures. Anyway..she had a really slim petite figure and was wearing a dress that showed off her waist and arms. If I were to pick how my body looked it would be just like hers b/c its attainable. Really cute!

02:08 pm: dun dun nu nun....
It's official! I'm a Fiance! hehe. He was so sweet about everything. I started acting like a brat b/c I wasn't sure that anything was planned. BUT-he surprised me and took me to this fancy 5 course romantic dinner in San Pedro Square on Saturday Night (http://www.71saintpeter.com/). Then he proposed at the Fairmont plaza (the granite benches outside in the courtyard by the museum) where we had our first date. It was so special! Who would have known that 8 years later he would be asking to marry me on that very same spot. *sigh* We spent Sunday in SFO, went to SF MOMA, shopped and had amazing buttery filet mignon at Ruths Chris.
Too bad I had a smashing headache when we ate. That's exactly what we ate.:( SO all in all..I had a really nice time and appreciate how sweet my boy was. No complaints here. I'm a happy camper!!!! BTW- My ring looks just like the one I stole from the internet. LOL Only I dont have the side stones on the main ring or the matching band yet.
